Most enjoyable evening in The Hotel Meyrick last Tuesday, entertained by the superb Rachel Croash Soprano, with her performance of Mendelssohn’s ‘Auf Flügeln des Gesanges’ at the launch of Music for Galway’s 2015/16 Season, ‘On Wings of Song’. This year’s season, “On Wings of Song” is dedicated to the human voice. “On wings of song will show the variety of the human voice in a variety of contexts,” says Music for Galway, Artistic Director, Finghin Collins, adding that different concerts will feature singers performing with a string quartet, with a piano, in oratorios, in opera and with orchestra”.
